My name is Doris Behrens. I am 43 years old, married and I have an eight-year-old son, whose name is Kai (my test-critic). After being forced to lay down my profession as nurse, due to a serious, chronic intestinal-disease. I found out once again, that my enthusiam as housewife is limited.

Via the rag dolls that I have made for several years with reat pleasure and for which I held courses, since 1994/1995 the teddybears are dominating more and more my life. I was not satisfied by using patterns from other people and so I decided to develop patterns of my qwn- In 1995 I attended several courses for pattern development (among others held by Claudia Weinstein-Wagner, Helga Schepp, Jacki Morris and Neysa Philippi) and then I was ready for take-off.

Meanwhile I think of my teddybears also as a kind of therapy for my Morbus Brohn if it is bothering me very badly.

I am satisfied with creating my teddybears and I am pleases to establish nice contacts with many of my clients. The first Christmascard of one of "my" bears moved me to tears.

Fortnunately my family is supporting me. My mother is making the little dresses for the bears, my husband accompanies me to the fairs and my parents are looking after our son, when "Snow-Bears" are travelling.

They are all designed by myself and are handmade with care.
